Privacy policy

Summary

This website is an information site for Peppynose™ products. You can create an optional account (your name, username, mobile number, email and a hashed password). It has no shopping cart and no payments. Only if you tap “Accept”, we use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to see how the site is used. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not list a phone number; you can reach us by email or WhatsApp chat.

Information we receive

Emails you send us. If you write to care.peppynose@gmail.com, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply to you.

Messages you send us on WhatsApp. We do not list a phone number on this website. If you message us using the “Chat with us” WhatsApp button, we receive your WhatsApp number, name and message and use them only to reply to you. WhatsApp handles the chat under its own privacy policy.

Website hosting. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub may record technical information such as your IP address when you visit, under GitHub’s privacy statement.

Fonts and photos from other services. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and some photos from Pexels, so your browser connects to those services when a page opens.

Analytics: only if you accept

Your choice comes first. When you first visit, a small banner asks if you accept analytics. Nothing is loaded from Google or Microsoft until you tap “Accept”. If you tap “Decline”, they are never loaded. Your choice is remembered on your device. We use Google’s Consent Mode with everything set to “denied” by default; on “Accept” only analytics is allowed, never advertising.

Google Analytics 4 (by Google) tells us which pages are viewed and which buttons are tapped, for example “Buy on Amazon.in”, “Buy on Flipkart”, WhatsApp, Instagram, the language switch, the pregnancy tracker, the share card and the help chat (only which suggested question was used, never what you type). It also records general information such as your approximate city or country, device type, browser and screen size.

Microsoft Clarity (by Microsoft) shows us anonymous heatmaps and short session replays of scrolling and taps, so we can fix confusing pages. Text you type into boxes is hidden from it.

What is never sent to analytics: your name, phone number or email, the date and weights you enter in the pregnancy tracker, your to-do ticks, or what you type in the help chat.

Cookies used after “Accept”: Google Analytics: _ga and _ga_* (up to 2 years). Microsoft Clarity: _clck (up to 1 year) and _clsk (1 day). Google and Microsoft handle this data under their own privacy policies (Google, Microsoft). We keep Google Analytics event data for up to 14 months.

Change your mind any time: tap “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page and choose “Decline”; the analytics cookies are then deleted. You can also clear this site’s data in your browser settings or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Saved on your device only

Some choices are saved only in your own browser and are never sent to us: your language, your cookie choice, the date, weights and to-do ticks in the pregnancy tracker, and whether the loading animation or help chat was already shown in this tab. “Clear my data” on the tracker page deletes the tracker data.

Buying on Amazon.in and Flipkart

When you follow a link to Amazon.in or Flipkart, you leave this website. Your order, payment and delivery details are handled by that marketplace under its own privacy policy; we do not receive your payment details.

Accounts

If you sign up, we store your name, username, mobile number, email address and a one-way password hash (PBKDF2). We never store the password itself. A cookie named pn_session is HttpOnly, so scripts on the page cannot read it. It keeps you logged in in this browser for 14 days. Log out deletes that session. Delete account on the account page removes your name, username, mobile number, email, password hash and sessions. A login code, if you ask for one, is stored only as a hash and expires after 5 minutes. Email addresses are not checked yet. Automatic “forgot password” email is not available yet; write to us from the address on the account if you need help. You can also skip login and keep browsing; that choice stays in this browser and is not an account.
